Swedish Waffles


  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk or cream
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup butter (not margarine, melted)
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Preserves or honey


Prepare and preheat waffle iron.

Mix all ingredients until the mixture takes on a slightly fluffy appearance.

Pour the batter into a hot waffle iron and bake until done, about three minutes.

It is traditional to use preserves or honey to top the waffles.
