Skillet Steaks with Onion Gravy

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 (8 ounce) shell steaks
  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

Directions

Measure broth in a large measuring cup. Whisk in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and pepper and then set it aside.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks; cook for about 4 minutes on each side for medium. Remove the steaks from the skillet; cover and keep warm. Pour off the fat from the skillet.

Thinly slice the onions. Add the butter to the skillet and melt over medium heat. Add the onions; cook stirring continually for about 3 minutes. Cover and reduce the heat to medium low. Cook about five minutes longer.

Stir the broth mixture into the skillet and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes. Pour over the steaks. Serve immediately.
