Pink Peppermint Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2-3 drops red food dye

Directions

Mix softened butter with an electric mixer or stand mixer on a medium setting and cream the butter until it is smooth and has lightened in color, for about 3 minutes.

Add the powdered sugar, ½ a cup at a time. After each cup has been thoroughly mixed, turn the mixer onto the highest speed setting for about 10 seconds to lighten the frosting.

Mix in vanilla and a pinch of salt.

Add the heavy cream, peppermint extract, and food dye and mix well.
