Maple-Bacon Walnut Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup butter (browned and cooled slightly)
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups walnuts (coarsely chopped)
  • 5 strips bacon (cooked and diced)
  • 1 pie crust

Directions

Preheat oven to 400° F.

In large bowl, beat eggs until slightly foamy. Stir in browned butter, sugars, and maple syrup; whisk until fully combined. Stir in flour, milk, and vanilla, then add walnuts and bacon and stir until fully coated.

Pour mixture into pie crust. Bake 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325° F and bake until top no longer jiggles in the center, 40-50 minutes more.

Cool completely (ideally overnight in the fridge) before slicing and serving.
