M&M's Slithering Sweets

Ingredients:

  • 2 bags Halloween M&M's©
  • 1 bag Snickers© brand fun size bars
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 12 strands black or red licorice laces
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans vanilla icing
  • Orange food coloring

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F. Line the cupcake pans with paper cupcake liners.

Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions. Chop 15 Snickers© bars and fold them into the batter. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cupcake pans.

Bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove from the oven, transfer to a wire rack, and let cool completely.

Cut the licorice laces into two inch pieces; set aside.

Tint the icing with the orange food coloring and frost all the cupcakes. Set two cupcakes on the side to use for later for the creatures heads. Begin to completely cover the rest of the cupcakes with M&M's©. Press a two inch line of licorice laces on opposite sides of every cupcake to form the creatures legs.

Now decorate the two reserved cupcakes. Make a big smile with a line of black M&M's©. Then cover the rest of the cupcake with orange M&M's©. Cut a Snickers© in half for each of the creatures eyes and use two M&M's© for the pupils. Add two licorice laces for the antennae.

Line the cupcakes up into a curvy row resembling a centipede.
